I will preface this by saying that I was SO EXCITED to go to this, but my disappointment was greater. This museum is entertaining enough but they are definitely trying to scare you from the moment you walk onto the premises. I wish I would have heard more about the house's history itself. The history of the house is talked about very little, which was a bit disappointing. I just walked very quickly through it (because you are forced to go through it to move on to the next area). I'm not a huge fan of Halloween haunted house things, so this wasn't my favorite surprise. They have that set up like a Halloween scary attraction where they purposely try to scare you, jump out at you, have actors dressed up and follow you, etc. One thing I wasn't prepared for ahead of time is the clown hall. We chose NOT to do those things and I was completely fine with that choice. There are maybe 4 or 5 extra things the VIP's (or RIP's rather) get to do for an additional $30. Granted, you are not being held against your will so if you need to leave, they'll show you out, but you won't be getting back in. Then, all phones are turned off and there's no further bathroom/drink access for the remainder of the 2.5 hour tour. Once you enter, that's your one and only chance to use the bathroom, drink some water, and snap a picture. You might wait in line for upwards of 45 minutes before entering the building. It's interesting to hear the stories, but if this is not someone's cup of tea, then don't go. If you watch the show Zak Bagan's hosts, it's a big extension of the show and his personality is all over the place. So, you have to go into this experience knowing that's the point. The whole point of this place is to scare people. So I’ve gotta know why Aaron, Billy and Jay always get assigned the creepier and crazier areas and you seen to dip out all the time □ We were headed into the 1800’s human head room and the guide was saying it’s so scary Zak doesn’t even like to go in there. The whole clown section was not needed and no one in our group loved that. I can see how people can mix that up with feeling spirits. You get hot, thirsty, feet and back hurting and you can feel dizzy and not right. This is also the usher in and out and miss stuff because your group is leaving. We were there on a chilly night and some rooms were HOT and others just warm but then they close the doors and you stand in there for a good 5 min if not more. I get that then it would just be a boring museum and that’s not what the show is about. The museum has so much to offer but the gimmicky setup isn’t letting us find what really interests us. To be able to take the time to look at things instead of being ushered from room to room to watch videos. I like the spooky and thought I wanted to be scared but the more we looked around and heard the history of some of the items and the history of the house itself we all agreed a solo walking tour with a headset (like Alcatraz) would be amazing. It screams greed and irritated us and took away from the overall experience. I agree with the previous reviewer that called this whole skeem gross. I felt like a kid in grade school being bullied because I didn’t have enough lunch money (even though I had already paid $50 a ticket). So the whole thing started off like WTF is happening here?! And then all through the tour the different surprise spots are announced and all the RIP’s can come forward and do this fun stuff while the rest of us just stand there. And the minute we checked in we were asked if we wanted to upgrade, our first guide picked out the 4 RIP’s in our group of 12 and only talked to them about all the extra cool stuff they would get to see and do that we wouldn’t. If you buy this you can go into 5-6 rooms that the rest of us losers can’t. I wanted to love it and these are the reasons I give it 3* 2 of us were super excited, 1 was scared and the last one came involuntarily for FFF (forced family fun) so we had lots of personality in our group. Long time ghost adventures junky here! I have been wanting to come for years.
